Privacy Policy
The short version
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to count pageviews and sessions after you accept the cookie banner. Until then, it sends no analytics pageview and sets no analytics cookie. You can change your mind any time from the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. There are no other trackers, no advertising, no forms, and no third-party embeds.
What this site is
amigobrewbrew.com is a set of static HTML pages served from Firebase Hosting. There is no database, no login, and no server-side code that could store information about visitors.
What Google Analytics collects
Analytics runs under Google’s Consent Mode v2. Advertising and personalisation storage are always denied — this site has no ads and never asks for that consent. Analytics storage starts denied on your first visit and stays that way unless you click “Accept” on the banner.
If you decline, or haven’t chosen yet:
- No
_ga,_ga_*, or any other analytics cookie is set in your browser. - No persistent client identifier is written for you, and no analytics pageview is sent.
If you accept:
- Google Analytics sets its standard
_gaand_ga_*cookies in your browser, used to recognise repeat visits and measure sessions. - Your choice is remembered in this browser’s local storage (not a cookie) so the banner doesn’t ask again. Change it any time from “Cookie preferences” in the footer.
Either way:
- IP addresses are handled by Google (they never reach me) and are truncated in the EU as a matter of Google’s own policy.
- No advertising or personalisation features are enabled, and Google Signals is off.
What that gets me is a count of which pages people visit, from which country, and roughly how many people. What it does not get me is a picture of who you are or what else you have done on the web.
The measurement ID is G-WC47P04B0Z. Google’s own privacy policy applies to how they process the pings on their end: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
You can opt out of Google Analytics site-wide by installing Google’s official opt-out browser add-on, or by using a content blocker — the analytics script is loaded from www.googletagmanager.com and any blocker recognises it.
Cookies
This site itself sets none. The only cookies possible are Google Analytics’ _ga/_ga_*, and only after you click “Accept” on the banner — see “What Google Analytics collects” above. If you decline or haven’t chosen yet, no cookie is set at all.
Fonts and third-party content
Web fonts are self-hosted from this domain at build time rather than requested from a font service, so loading a page here does not tell any font provider that you visited. There are no embedded videos, comment widgets, social buttons or iframes. The only external request the page makes is the analytics ping described above.
Server logs
Firebase Hosting, like any web host, processes standard request data such as IP address and user agent in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. This is handled by Google as the hosting provider under Firebase’s privacy and security policy. I do not have access to a per-visitor hosting-log view and do not build profiles from it.
Links to other sites
This site links out to product sites, app stores, Discord, YouTube and X. Once you follow a link, that destination’s own privacy policy applies. This policy covers only amigobrewbrew.com.
The Word Quip app is separate
Word Quip is a mobile and web application with accounts, game data and Firebase services behind it. It collects information, and it has its own policy: Word Quip: Privacy Policy. If you are looking for how the app handles your data, that is the document you want — not this one.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
